A set of turned metal barrels for the model of the American heavy cruiser USS San Francisco (CA-38) in her 1942 fit, 1:350 scale, made by MASTER. It holds 9 barrels of the main 203 mm caliber (8 inch), 8 barrels of the dual-purpose 127 mm caliber (5 inch) and 16 barrels of the 28 mm anti-aircraft caliber (1.1 inch). Turned metal has a straight bore and a crisp muzzle.
USS San Francisco was an American heavy cruiser of the New Orleans class. She played a major part in the night battle off Guadalcanal in November 1942, where she was heavily damaged but stayed in the fight – she is among the most decorated American ships of that campaign.
Separate the barrels from the gate, adjust the seating pin and glue them in with cyanoacrylate glue. The tiny 28 mm barrels (the anti-aircraft quad mounts) call for careful handling. Apply a primer to the metal before painting.
The set serves as a turned replacement for parts of the base kit; on its own it is not a ship model. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
