A photo-etched non-skid deck for Japanese IJN ships 1:350 from Flyhawk gives the decks of a model the realistic texture of a non-skid surface. It is a photo-etched accessory, not a model in its own right.
Responsibility details are not available.
This photo-etched set from the maker Flyhawk reproduces the non-skid surface of the decks of warships of the Imperial Japanese Navy of the Second World War. It is not a kit but a fine photo-etched part that is applied to the smooth decks of a plastic model and replaces the missing structure of real steel.
Japanese ships had a non-skid treatment on the exposed decks and the roofs of the gun turrets. In 1:350 scale injection-molded plastic cannot manage this fine structure, which is why a photo-etched part is a welcome source of detail. Once painted it creates a convincing impression of a real deck.
Separate the photo-etched parts with a sharp knife, degrease the area and glue them with thin super glue. For even adhesion the part can be weighted down briefly. Lay the paint down with an airbrush, so that the relief stays visible.
The photo-etched accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The model itself, glue and paints are not included in the package.
