A set of turned metal gun barrels of 152 mm caliber for models of Italian warships of the Second World War period, in 1:350 scale. According to the name it contains twelve pieces. Plastic barrels in this scale tend to be thin, bent and to carry a mold seam; metal ones stay straight and their muzzles are clean with no further work.
Artillery of 152 millimeter caliber made up the secondary battery of Italian cruisers or the main armament of light cruisers. The guns were mounted in turrets in twos or threes and their long, slender barrels are among the most prominent elements of the silhouette. That is exactly why any inaccuracy in how they are rendered shows on a model at once.
Degrease the metal before gluing. Cut the original plastic barrels off where they come out of the turret and clean the holes with a drill so that the metal barrel seats all the way home. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue and check before it sets that all the barrels point in the same direction and at the same elevation. Apply a primer to the metal, otherwise the finish will rub off.
The set is an accessory for a kit and does not replace one. Paints, glue and the model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
