HMS Montgomery (late 1942), a 1:400 model from Mirage Hobby captures the British destroyer that came from an American flush-decker handed over to the Royal Navy.
Responsibility details are not available.
This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:400 scale represents the British destroyer HMS Montgomery as she looked in late 1942. The ship had a full hull, superstructure and deck fittings, and a stand for display is included in the set. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
HMS Montgomery was originally an American flush-deck destroyer that the Royal Navy took over as part of the handover of older American ships. She was placed among the so-called Town class destroyers, named after towns shared by the United Kingdom and the United States. These veterans of the First World War gave valuable service in the Second World War protecting convoys and on patrol.
For the atmosphere of the day, the British naval camouflages of late 1942 suit well. You can build the hull whole and set it on the stand, or adapt it to the waterline. Replace the fine railings with photo-etch and make the aerials from wire. Glue the plastic with a thin cement and bring the panels and the decks out with a wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
