1:400 ORP Grom wz. 38 is a plastic kit of the Polish destroyer in her 1938 configuration from the Polish manufacturer Mirage Hobby.
Responsibility details are not available.
The kit covers the Polish destroyer ORP Grom, the lead ship of her class, in the form designated wz. 38, that is, in the configuration matching 1938. The small 1:400 scale makes the model a rewarding piece for a display case, where it takes up little room and yet keeps the slender silhouette of the real ship. It is an injection-molded plastic kit from the Polish manufacturer Mirage Hobby.
Grom was one of the modern destroyers built for the Polish Navy in the second half of the 1930s in British yards. She stood out for high speed, medium-caliber gun armament in enclosed mounts and torpedo tubes on deck. Together with her sister ship she was among the strongest units of her kind in her region. At the beginning of the Second World War she operated off the Norwegian coast, where she was sunk in 1940 during an air attack.
With ships in a small scale, a flat deck and a clean seam between the hull halves are what count. Build and putty the hull first, and only then fit the superstructures. Paint the deck and the hull separately while you can still get at them with both a brush and an airbrush. Railings and fine rigging are usually replaced in this scale with photo-etched parts and thin thread, which helps the model considerably. It is worth seating the finished model on a simple stand or on a board representing the sea surface.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
