U-826 is a plastic kit of the German Type VIIC submarine in 1:400 scale from Mirage Hobby.
Responsibility details are not available.
Injection-molded plastic kit of a German Type VIIC submarine in 1:400 scale in her late configuration with a strengthened anti-aircraft conning tower and a snorkel. The box contains parts for the full hull, the conning tower, the deck gun, a small stand and decal sheets. Type VIIC was the most widely used German submarine of the Second World War and makes a rewarding subject even in the smaller scales.
Type VIIC submarines were the backbone of the German submarine war in the Atlantic. They were smaller and more agile than the long-range types, well suited to attacks on convoys, and in the later stage of the war they received strengthened anti-aircraft armament on the conning tower and a snorkel, which allowed the batteries to be charged below the surface. It is in exactly this late form that this subject is rendered.
Line the halves of the hull up and sand the joints carefully. Glue the conning tower armament and the snorkel with liquid cement for plastic, and paint the fine items before assembly. A smooth submarine hull suits a primer, uniform gray shades with an airbrush and a fine wash to bring out the hatches and the free-flooding slots. Separate photo-etched accessories will improve the fine railings and antennas.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
