A finished collector's model of the Skoda 1201 in a brown finish and 1:43 scale from the Czech brand Abrex, which specializes in models of Skoda cars. This is not a kit: the model is completely assembled and painted, so all you have to do is unpack it and display it.
In the middle of the 1950s the Skoda 1201 followed on from the type 1200 and became an omnipresent car in Czechoslovakia of the day. A roomy sedan with an all-metal body and a four-cylinder engine of around 1.2 liters, it served families and businesses alike; besides the sedan there were also station wagon, ambulance, van and pick-up versions. The 1201 ran as a taxi, as a mobile shop and as a service car for Verejna bezpecnost, the uniformed police force of what was then Czechoslovakia, and so it is one of the most typical silhouettes of Czech roads of its era.
Abrex models in 1:43 scale are marked out by good paintwork and faithful rendering of the detail, of the glazing, the interior, the grille and the badges. The brown civilian finish goes nicely with the other variants of the Skoda 1201 (taxi, ambulance, Verejna bezpecnost) that appear in this range, and with the other Skoda cars in the uniform 1:43 scale.
This is a finished collector's model, not a kit. It is not intended as a toy for small children.
