Pre-cut self-adhesive masks in 1:48 scale intended for painting a model of the twin-engine Beechcraft Model 18, known in the armed forces under the designation C-45. The product is neither a kit nor an accessory set of parts. It is an aid for painting that saves the most demanding part of the work with a brush and an airbrush. The set is cut to match the ICM kit.
The Beechcraft Model 18 has extensive glazing of the flight deck as well as a row of windows in the fuselage. Cutting that many small frames out of masking tape by hand takes hours, and one slip of the knife is enough to make the result irregular. Pre-cut masks remove this part of the work. The procedure is simple: degrease the surface, transfer the mask onto the model, press the edges down, spray the color of the frames over it and remove the mask before the paint has fully cured.
The Beechcraft Model 18 is a twin-engine all-metal aircraft with twin rudders, built over a very long period and used in civilian transport as well as in military service as a liaison and training machine. In its military form it carried the designation C-45 and was used, among other things, for training navigators and for carrying passengers. Thanks to the long production run there are many versions differing in details of the glazing, the engine nacelles and the equipment.
The package contains masks only. The model, paints and glue are not part of it. Please check compatibility with your kit.
