This item is not a kit of the vehicle but an accessory photo-etched set for a model you buy separately. It is meant for the kit of the BTR-60PB armored personnel carrier in 1:48 scale given in the name of the product. It is made by the Czech brand Hauler, which has long devoted itself to photo-etched accessories.
An injection mold has a technological minimum of thickness. Anything that on the real vehicle is sheet a few millimeters thick comes out on a model in 1:48 scale as a disproportionately thick plate. Photo-etched sheet is thinner by an order of magnitude and matches the scale, so grilles, grab handles, eyes, hinges and flanges look convincing even close up. It moreover has etched relief: rivets, pressings and perforations that cannot be impressed into plastic in this scale.
Cut the parts out of the fret on a hard surface with a sharp scalpel or with shears for photo-etch, and never tear them, or the whole part will bend. Sand the fret tab remnant down with a needle file. For the bends use a photo-etch bender or at least two razor blades and a metal ruler, and always bend along the etched line. Stiffer parts can be carefully annealed over a flame before bending, so that the metal softens and does not crack. Degrease the photo-etch with spirit before gluing, as grease from the fingers holds on metal. It is glued with super glue, ideally the gel kind for the time it gives you to settle the part, or by soldering. A primer meant for metal follows; without it paint will not hold on smooth brass.
The BTR-60PB is a Soviet eight-wheeled amphibious armored personnel carrier with a closed conical turret, in which there is a 14.5 mm heavy machine gun and a coaxial 7.62 mm machine gun. It is driven by a pair of gasoline engines, and in water it moves by water jet. It served with a number of armies and in many countries stayed in service long after the end of the Soviet era.
The set is an accessory for a kit. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
