Curtiss H75A — control surface set with photo-etched parts 1:48 from the Czech manufacturer AML. Resin control surfaces together with a photo-etched fret to refine a model of the French Hawk.
Responsibility details are not available.
A detail set from the Czech manufacturer AML in 1:48 scale for the Curtiss H75A. This is not a stand-alone aircraft model: the set combines resin control surfaces with photo-etched parts, so the model gains both crisp, deflectable surfaces with a fine fabric texture and the small metal details injection-molded plastic cannot capture faithfully. Having both materials in one set saves buying them separately.
The Curtiss H75 was the export version of the American P-36 Hawk fighter with a radial engine. Its largest user was prewar France, and the French H75A Hawks counted in May and June 1940 among the most successful fighters of the campaign, with Czechoslovak pilots flying them in French service as well. The type went on to serve in Finland among other places, where the aircraft arrived from captured stocks.
For the photo-etched parts have sharp nippers, tweezers and ideally a bender ready; sand the edges lightly after separating them from the fret. Glue both the photo-etched parts and the resin with cyanoacrylate glue in small amounts, as any excess removes the detail. Degrease the metal parts before painting and lay down a primer, otherwise the paint will not hold. The French three-tone camouflage with its large areas is a rewarding exercise in soft transitions with an airbrush.
An accessory set; this is not a stand-alone model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
