The Hawker Hurricane was a British single-seat fighter and, together with the Spitfire, it bore the main weight of the Battle of Britain. It differed from the all-metal aircraft of its day in its construction: the fuselage structure was a tubular truss and the rear of the airframe was fabric-covered, which shows on the surface of a model as a different texture from smooth sheet metal. The Mk.II form was later and breaks down into several subversions, which differ from one another above all in armament. Hurricanes flew with British and Allied units and in the most varied finishes, from European through desert to naval.
This is a stand-alone sheet of decals for a model in 1:48 scale, that is an accessory for a kit rather than the kit itself. Which particular aircraft, national insignia and lettering the sheet covers, and to what extent, is given in the instructions enclosed. It is worth looking into them before you start painting the model, because the marking you choose may decide the finish of the whole airframe.
First coat the area under the decal with gloss varnish, because on flat paint a silvery film forms under the film. Cut the item out as closely as possible, dip it in lukewarm water for a few seconds and let it rest until it starts to slide freely on the backing paper. Then slide it into place, soak the water away with a soft cloth from the center toward the edges and draw the decal into the engraving with a decal softener. Finally take a coat of varnish over the finished marking to suit the final look of the model.
