Decals 1:48 Nakajima J1N1 Gekko (re-edition), a decal sheet from the Czech maker AML with the markings of the Japanese Gekko night fighter for models in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
This reissued decal sheet from the Czech maker AML in 1:48 scale brings markings for the twin-engined Nakajima J1N1 Gekko. Thanks to the re-edition a popular Japanese subject returns for modelers who missed it before.
The Nakajima J1N1 came about originally as an escort fighter, but it gained its greatest fame as a night fighter of the Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service. It was on the Gekko that the installation of obliquely upward-firing cannon proved itself, with which the crews attacked American bombers from below, out of the blind spot of their defensive fire. The Allies gave the type the code name Irving. Dark green night machines with prominent national insignia are among the most atmospheric subjects of Japanese aviation.
On dark surfaces every trace of silvering shows especially clearly, so polish the base carefully or spray it with gloss varnish. Apply the light markings carefully, so that the camouflage does not show through under them; refine the position while the decal still slides and settle it with a decal softener. Once it has dried, seal the surface with a satin or flat clear coat according to period photographs.
This is a decal sheet: the model of the aircraft is not included in the package.
