A decal sheet from L Decals Studio in 1:48 scale focused on aircraft of the Sukhoi design bureau in foreign service. The abbreviation OKB stands for experimental design bureau, that is the development establishment after which Soviet and Russian aircraft are traditionally designated. The sheet offers four finish variants. It is not a kit: the decals are laid down on a finished, painted model.
Aircraft of the Sukhoi brand are among the most widespread combat machines of the Eastern design school. Besides the home user they were and are operated by a number of foreign air arms on several continents, and each country adapted the machines to its own camouflage regulations and marking system. It is precisely this variety that makes export schemes an interesting subject: the same type looks completely different in another country and another climate, from desert through gray low-visibility to striking ceremonial finishes.
The decals call for a gloss clear coat as a base, otherwise a silvery veil will appear. Cut the design out as close as possible, soak it briefly in lukewarm water and move it with a brush. Modern fighters have many engraved lines and panel gaps, so use a decal softener and draw off the excess water with the edge of a paper towel. Lay large elements down in one go and settle them with a soft brush from the center toward the edges. Once dry, unify the surface with a matte or semi-matte varnish.
The package holds decals only. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
