A small resin accessory from the Czech maker Hauler for the model of the Volkswagen Type 82E car in 1:48 scale. It is not a kit but a replacement door part cut for the Tamiya kit. A resin casting can manage a thinner wall and a finer relief than can be injected into a plastic mold.
The Volkswagen Type 82E combined the closed passenger body of the Type 60 with the chassis of the Type 82 light cross-country vehicle. The result was a car with the look of a civilian sedan but with greater ground clearance and a more rugged chassis, used in staff and signals service. On such a small model the doors are among the few large visible surfaces, so even a small improvement shows on them.
Wash the resin castings first in lukewarm water with detergent so that the remains of the release agent from the mold are removed, or neither paint nor glue will hold. Cut the casting block off with a saw or a cutter and finish the surface on abrasive paper; it is advisable to sand resin wet and with protection for your breathing. It is bonded with super glue; cement for plastic has no effect on resin. If you want to show the door open, expect the interior of the car to be visible, and you will have to add that yourself.
The part is an accessory for a kit. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
