MH models 1:48 airbrush masks for the German crosses of the Dornier Do-17Z-2 bomber. Self-adhesive templates for spraying the national insignia in paint; they are neither decals nor a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A cross with a white and a black field is among the most demanding insignia for a decal, because its straight edges give away every wrinkle in the film. This set from MH models therefore works the other way around: the template is stuck onto a finished coat of varnish, paint is sprayed through the cut-out and once it is removed a sharp geometry is left without any film. The set is cut for a particular Do-17Z-2 kit in 1:48 scale, so check the match with the model you are building. The exact number and the dimensions of the masks are stated on the box.
The Dornier Do 17 was a German twin-engine bomber with a slim fuselage that was nicknamed the flying pencil. The Z series is its last production form; compared with the earlier versions it received a deepened and fully glazed nose with room for the whole crew, and radial engines. The Z-2 version was the main bomber variant of this series.
Spray a multicolor cross in layers, that is, the light field first and the dark one once it has dried. Always press the template down around the whole perimeter of the cut-out and spray perpendicular to the surface so that paint does not get under the edge. Thin coats are essential, as one heavy coat almost always runs underneath. Take the mask off shortly after spraying and do so slowly, at an acute angle, so that you do not tear off the surrounding varnish with it.
This is a modeling accessory, not a model of the aircraft. The kit and the paints are not included in the package.
