A wooden deck in 1:700 scale for a model of the Japanese auxiliary cruiser Hokoku Maru in her 1942 state, cut for the Pit-Road W136 kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Hokoku Maru is given in the name as an auxiliary cruiser of the Imperial Japanese Navy in her 1942 state. Auxiliary cruisers came about by the conversion of merchant ships: they were given armament and were used for patrolling and for long-range operations against merchant shipping. They are told from warships by a tall superstructure block and an extensive cargo deck, which on the model forms a large continuous area.
A deck sheet of wooden veneer for 1:700 scale, cut for the Pit-Road kit with the catalog number W136. The pattern of the planks comes from the division of the veneer into strips, and the gaps between them are a real boundary of the material, not a shadow painted on plastic. The cutouts for the superstructures and the deck equipment match the kit given.
First check that the plastic deck is flat and free of burrs; every unevenness will show through thin veneer. Try the sheet on dry and verify the position of the cutouts. Whether the underside is provided with an adhesive layer is given in the manufacturer's instructions; if it is not, reach for a glue suitable for wood and apply it in a thin even coat. Press the veneer down from the center toward the edges and cut the excess at the sides away only at the end.
The ship kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise. The extent of the package is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
