The Grumman F-14 Tomcat was an American carrier-based fighter with a variable-geometry wing and a pair of engines with rectangular air intakes. The blanking covers protect the engines from dirt and foreign objects when the machine is not flying.
Wash the mold release agent off the parts, cut off the casting blocks and clean them up; protect your airways when sanding. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). The covers are usually painted in bright warning shades with lettering and often carry features meant to alert the ground crew.
