A complete accessory set for the Fairey Barracuda Mk I to III carrier aircraft model in 1:48 scale from Brengun. It is an extensive accessory to the Special Hobby kit, not an airplane model.
Responsibility details are not available.
The most extensive type of accessory Brengun offers for a single aircraft: a complete set meant to take a model to a higher level of detail as a whole rather than in one place only. The set follows on from the Special Hobby kit and holds no plastic parts of the aircraft itself.
The Fairey Barracuda was a British single-engine carrier aircraft of the Second World War with a high-mounted tail surface and large landing flaps. The Mk I to III versions differed mainly in engine and equipment. For a modeler it is a rewarding subject precisely because a great many structural features, the tail struts, the flaps, the landing gear and the glazed cockpit, are exposed on a finished model and detail on them comes out well.
Complete sets are built in sections and with the instructions at hand: sort the parts by assembly first and only then begin. Wash the resin castings in lukewarm soapy water, cut the casting blocks off with a fine-toothed saw and sand the area wet with respiratory protection. Degrease any photo-etched parts and bend them in a bending tool. It is bonded with super glue, as ordinary cement for plastic works neither on resin nor on metal. Apply a base coat before painting. Finish and paint everything that belongs inside the fuselage before you join it, and keep dry-fitting to check that the halves still close.
The accessory set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
