A resin figure of a seated fighter pilot, completed with an ejection seat, in 1:48 scale from the brand Aerobonus (an Aires range). The seat is shaped for the cockpits of the Soviet MiG-21 fighters (the PFM, MF, SMT and Bis versions) and the MiG-23 (M, MF, ML). It is a detail accessory for a cockpit, not a stand-alone aircraft model.
The figure represents a Soviet-type fighter pilot from the period of the Cold War. Both the MiG-21 and the MiG-23 served from the 1960s with the Soviet Air Force and with the Warsaw Pact states including Czechoslovakia. The pilot is caught in the flying gear of the day: a helmet, an oxygen mask and a flight suit with a seat harness. He fills an otherwise empty cockpit faithfully and adds to the scale realism of a model.
Resin parts for more experienced modelers: wash the mold release agent off them, separate them from the casting blocks and glue them with super glue (cyanoacrylate), and protect your airways when sanding. Apply a primer before painting, lay the paints down in thin coats and bring the details out with a wash. The head and the arms tend to be separate, so the pose can be adjusted slightly; check the fit dry.
The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and a base kit are not included in the package unless stated otherwise.
