The set holds a resin air intake, an exhaust and covers against foreign objects entering the intakes (F.O.D.) for the light Mi-2 Hoplite helicopter in 1:72 scale. The castings replace and complete the plastic parts from the base kit and add a more faithful shape to the engine area.

The real subject and what the part is for

The Mi-2 (NATO reporting name Hoplite) is a light multirole helicopter of Soviet design whose development and series production moved to Poland, where it was built by PZL-Swidnik. It was powered by a pair of turboshaft engines mounted above the cabin and served in training, liaison, ambulance and light combat roles. The air intakes and exhausts above the fuselage are visually prominent, so finer castings and covers against foreign objects raise the fidelity of a finished model.

Usage tips

• Wash the parts free of mold release residue in lukewarm soapy water
• Cut off the casting blocks and clean up the surfaces with respiratory protection
• Glue with cyanoacrylate glue; cement for plastic will not hold on resin
• Bring out the exhausts with a dark wash and a hint of scorched metal
