This short-run injection-molded kit in 1:48 scale captures the German Focke-Wulf Fw 56 Stösser parasol monoplane in the foreign users variant. The box is completed by photo-etched parts and decals for several markings outside Germany. The kit is built on a proven plastic tooling and is meant for modelers with experience of short-run aircraft kits.
The Fw 56 Stösser was a single-seat advanced trainer with a parasol wing that appeared in the middle of the 1930s. Besides training it also served as a light fighter trainer and for practicing dive attacks. Alongside the Luftwaffe it was used by a number of foreign operators, among them Hungary, Austria, Bulgaria and Spain.
With a short-run kit, expect careful cleaning up of the parts and a dry test of the components. The struts of the parasol wing call for patience and accurate alignment. Glue the plastic with thin cement and the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue. Apply a gloss coat over the matte surface before the decals. The fabric surfaces come into their own with discreet preshading and a fine emphasis on the ribs.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
