1:48 Fw 190 D-9 is a photo-etched detail set for a kit of this airplane in 1:48 scale that you have already bought: it is not a model but an accessory that adds to a build the details unreachable in injected plastic. The set is cut for the Dragon or the Italeri kit.

An accessory from the Czech maker Brengun in the form of a fret of thin photo-etched sheet. It is not a kit: the set assumes that you already have the plastic model of the airplane and want to replace or add the details on it that an injection mold cannot capture. The set is designed for the Dragon or the Italeri kit, so the parts match its dimensions and you do not have to adjust them laboriously. The composition of the fret is given by the manufacturer on the packaging of the set.
The Focke-Wulf Fw 190 D-9 was a late development branch of the German fighter from the end of the Second World War. It differed from the earlier versions with a radial engine in having a liquid-cooled powerplant in a lengthened nose, an extended rear fuselage and an enlarged vertical tail. The lengthened fuselage and the different shape of the cowling earned the machine a nickname derived from its drawn-out silhouette, and at the same time they mean that parts from the versions with a radial engine do not fit it.
Cut the photo-etched parts off with a scalpel on a glass or metal surface and level the remains of the tabs with a file. Make the bends in a small bending tool, or at least between two blades pressed to an edge: bend the sheet in one movement, as repeated bending work-hardens it until it is brittle. Harder material can be annealed briefly over a flame and is more pliable once it has cooled. Degrease it before painting and use a primer. Apply thin coats so that the fine relief is not flooded over, because on instrument and interior parts it is precisely the relief for the sake of which photo-etched metal is bought.
