An accessory set of exhaust nozzles in the closed position for a model of the Grumman F-14A Tomcat in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The F-14A Tomcat from the Grumman works is a twin-engine carrier-borne fighter with a variable-sweep wing. The pair of exhaust nozzles at the tail is its recognition mark and in a larger scale every simplified shape shows on it; a kit usually deals with it by merely suggesting the internal space.
The set replaces the exhaust nozzles of a model in 1:48 scale, in the closed configuration, that is with the petals drawn in. Such a state corresponds to an aircraft with its engines shut down, as it tends to be captured on a deck or on an apron. The number of parts, the recommended fit and any alterations to the tail of the fuselage are given in the manufacturer's instructions. Sets with the nozzles in the open position exist as well, so choose the configuration according to a photograph of the machine you are building.
The parts are not polystyrene and glue with super glue. Cut excess material off with a sharp blade a little off the part and sand the rest back to a plane, so that the replacement seats without a gap. Before painting, wash the parts in lukewarm water with detergent and let them dry, otherwise the paint holds badly on them. Paint the internal surfaces before you seat the nozzles in the tail; once glued, you will not reach them with a brush again. Try the fit dry.
The kit of the aircraft, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
