A set of masking elements in kabuki-type tape for a model of the Buccaneer S.2 aircraft in 1:48 scale, in the Advanced version.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Buccaneer S.2 was a British strike aircraft intended for low-level attacks over the sea. The design allowed for service from the decks of aircraft carriers, so it has a sturdy landing gear, folding wings and an exceptionally strong structure. In its role it was among the best machines of its day and with British crews it earned a reputation as an aircraft that could take rough handling.
Cutting glazing masks by hand is a chore and everyone can see the result: crooked edges and paint run under the tape. This set offers masking elements in kabuki-type tape ready-cut to shape, so there is nothing to measure and nothing to cut out. It comes in the Advanced version; the same subject appears in the range in several versions that differ in how much they cover. Exactly what the set covers and which kit it is prepared for is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Clean and degrease the surface first; grease is what a mask holds on worst. Move the elements with tweezers or the tip of a knife, settle them in place and press the edges down firmly. Only then spray, and do so in several thin coats. Remove the mask shortly after the paint has dried, pulling it back at a shallow angle over itself rather than straight upward, so as not to tear the finish.
It suits anyone who wants the glazing frames crisp and straight without hours of fiddly work with a knife and tape.
The delivery contains masking elements. The kit, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
