Photo-etched hand tools in 1:48 scale from Aber. A general-purpose accessory for models of military vehicles and for dioramas.
Responsibility details are not available.
A photo-etched metal set in 1:48 scale from the Polish maker Aber. It holds the hand and pioneer tools that military vehicles carried fixed to the hull and the fenders. It is not a model but an accessory: the metal parts have the correct profiles and thin edges, whereas plastic tools tend to be noticeably oversized in this scale.
Tools on the outside of a vehicle are one of the details that decide how believable a model is — they break up the flat expanse of armor and offer a place for the color contrast of wood against metal. The set also suits a diorama, where the tools lie loose beside the vehicle or in the hands of figures.
Separate the photo-etched parts with a sharp knife on a hard mat or with photo-etch scissors, and make the bends in a bending tool or along a steel ruler. Glue them with cyanoacrylate glue and degrease the surfaces beforehand. Lay down a base coat suitable for metal before painting, otherwise the paint holds badly on the etched parts.
This is a detail set, not a complete model. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
