Montex - a masking set for the Hawker Hurricane Mk.IIB in 1:48 scale - precisely die-cut self-adhesive templates for a clean spray finish on the canopy and the markings of this British fighter.
Responsibility details are not available.
The many-piece framed canopy of the Hurricane is an unpleasant area to mask by hand - die-cut self-adhesive Montex masks will take care of it in a moment. The templates fit the frames of the glazing precisely, and the range also offers masks for spraying the national insignia, which replace decals elegantly. The set is an accessory for painting a model in 1:48 scale, not a kit; it is cut to fit a particular model, so check compatibility with your kit.
The Hawker Hurricane carried the main weight of the Battle of Britain and in the Mk.II version it continued in service with the more powerful Rolls-Royce Merlin XX engine. The IIB variant was given a wing with twelve 7.7 mm machine guns and racks for bombs, thanks to which it found a use in attacks on ground targets as well. Hurricane IIBs flew over western Europe, in North Africa, in the Far East and, under Allied aid, in the Soviet Union too; Czechoslovak pilots served on them as well.
Apply the masks onto degreased glazing, smooth them down from the center toward the edges and check the corners of the frames. You can spray the first layer in the interior color, so that the frames look believable from the inside too. Apply the external camouflage in light layers and take the masks off only once it has dried.
A masking accessory - the model, the paints and the glue are not included in the package.
