It is not a kit of an aircraft but a detailed accessory. The name designates it as the early standard (early type) — Reskit also makes a late-standard set in the same range, because the engraving of the rims and the main gear wheels differed between individual production series of the Hercules. For the right choice, go by which version of the aircraft you are building.
The Lockheed C-130 Hercules is a four-engine turboprop transport aircraft with a high-mounted wing, a rear loading ramp and landing gear retracting into side fairings on the fuselage. The gear carries a high load and is built for unpaved surfaces as well, which the massive wheels in a tandem arrangement on the main legs correspond to. It is precisely this assembly that is clearly visible on a model, because the gear fairings stay open and the wheels are seen from the side and from below.
Wash the resin in lukewarm water with dish soap before painting and apply a primer. Cut the casting block off at the point where it sits on the ground. Paint the rims and the tires separately — the simplest procedure is to spray the whole wheel in the shade of the tire, mask it with a circular mask and only then spray the rim. On a transport machine that flies from dusty surfaces as well, a fine dusting with pigment on the sidewalls and around the rim looks good; work with pigment in the dry and only after the surface has been matted. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue).
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
