Armycast 1:48 Luftwaffe Balkenkreuze, middle version — part II is a set of die-cut self-adhesive masking templates for spraying the national insignia of Luftwaffe aircraft in the middle variant. It is the second part of this variant.

A masking set in 1:48 scale from the Czech maker Armycast. The self-adhesive sheets hold machine-cut shapes of the national insignia of the Luftwaffe, the so-called Balkenkreuz, in the middle variant. The item is the second part of this variant — the maker split it into several separately sold parts, so you buy just the sheet you need for a particular model.
The national insignia was placed on Luftwaffe aircraft on the sides of the fuselage and on the upper and lower wing surfaces, and the size of the insignia differed according to its position. The rendering of the cross moreover changed over time — the early version has a solid black center with a broad white border, while the later variants have a narrower border and a simplified shape. The middle variant corresponds to the middle phase of the war period.
The base has to be dry, smooth and degreased. Transfer the template with tweezers, line it up against the panel lines and press the edges down with a wooden stick so that they settle even in the corners. Spray several very thin coats at right angles to the surface and let them dry in between — a heavy coat makes a ridge at the edge of the mask that stays visible. With a two-color insignia you work in layers: the light area first, then the further pieces of the template are added and the dark center is oversprayed. Lift the mask off soon after it has dried by pulling back over itself at a sharp angle.
The package holds masking templates only. Paints, varnish and the model are not part of it.
