Resin wheels tend to be more detailed than the plastic parts from a kit and are often cast with a slightly flattened contact patch (weighted), which looks natural. The painting masks make it easier to separate the color of the tire from the hub cleanly. Take care to choose the right type of wheel for the version of the aircraft.
First wash the resin parts in lukewarm water with detergent to remove any mold release agent, carefully cut off the casting blocks and gently sand the cut surfaces. They are bonded solely with super glue (cyanoacrylate), as plastic cement will not hold on resin. Sanding resin creates dust that is harmful to health, so work with respiratory protection.
