The New Ware 1:48 Mask Ju-88C-6 BASIC is a cut self-adhesive mask in the basic scope for building the heavy fighter version of the twin-engine Ju 88. It deals above all with the extensive glazing of the nose and the cockpit.

Cut self-adhesive masks for building the Ju 88 in the C-6 version in 1:48 scale. The BASIC designation describes the scope of the set: it is the basic variant, centered on the glazing. A considerably wider EXPERT level exists for the same machine. Anyone who mainly wants to get through the intricate glazing without trouble and does not need the full set will reach for this variant.
The Ju 88 was a twin-engine multirole aircraft built in many versions. The C-6 variant is a heavy fighter conversion with a solid, unglazed nose into which heavy fixed armament was moved. The rest of the airframe, including the glazed upper part of the cockpit and the characteristic engine nacelles, remained close to the bomber versions. For the modeler that means a fair amount of glazed area is left to mask even on the fighter version.
The cockpit of the Ju 88 has many small, irregularly shaped panes. Trimming tape by hand on a part like that is slow and the result tends to be asymmetrical. A cut mask makes the frames consistent, keeps the same width on both sides of the model and lets you spray them in exactly the same shade as the airframe around them. Work by lifting the pieces off with tweezers, laying them on a degreased surface and pressing them down with a toothpick all the way around.
The set is tailored to one specific kit, the ICM 48238. It is not a model or a kit, and paints are not included in the package.
