Photo-etched metal parts in 1:48 scale for the AV-8A Harrier aircraft in the late treatment. They add fine details at a thickness a plastic part will not offer.
Responsibility details are not available.
The AV-8A Harrier is a single-seat combat aircraft with short takeoff and vertical landing which served with the United States Marine Corps. It comes from the British Harrier and tends to be listed under the designation McDonnell Douglas AV-8A. The word late in the name refers to the later treatment of the machine.
These are photo-etched metal parts in 1:48 scale. Photo-etch allows a thickness a plastic part cannot reach, so it suits the parts that in reality have the shape of thin sheet metal or wire. The extent of the set and the placement of the individual parts follow the manufacturer's instructions, which also give the order of assembly for them.
Separate the parts from the carrier fret with a sharp blade on a hard surface and sand the remainder of a tab. Lead the bends over a groove marked in advance, best in a bender or between two blades. Photo-etch does not react to cement for polystyrene; use superglue or a two-part epoxy. Before painting, degrease the surface and apply a base paint, otherwise the coat holds badly on smooth metal.
The set is for modelers who want to bring the fine details out on an aircraft in 1:48 scale and do not mind working with small metal parts. Tweezers, a sharp blade, a surface and a calm hand suit it; prepare the small parts over a box, so that they do not jump off onto the floor. A particular kit is not determined for the set, so compare the parts with your model before building.
The kit itself, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
