The real subject

The F-15I is the Israeli two-seat strike version derived from the F-15E, and the F-15K is the South Korean equivalent built on the same basis. Both have a crew of two and two engines and, compared with the purely fighter versions of the Eagle, are adapted for attacks on ground targets at long range. The two-seat cockpit tells them apart from the fighter versions externally; you will often see them with additional fairings on the sides of the fuselage and with a rich choice of pylons as well.

What the set offers

Replacement exhaust nozzles rendered in the closed position for a model in 1:48 scale. The position of the nozzle on the real aircraft changes with the power setting of the engine, so this detail in particular says a great deal about whether a finished model comes across believably. Check against photographs of the machine you are building, therefore, that the closed position matches the situation you want to show. Building and painting tips

The parts are not polystyrene, so they are glued with superglue. Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder; before painting, wash and degrease everything. Try the seating into the rear of the fuselage dry, while sanding is still possible without risk. The nozzles are among the most thermally loaded places on an aircraft, so it pays to work on them with metallic shades and a fine accent on the rims; let photographs of the real machine be your guide.
