Reconnaissance MiGs and a machine from the sea

The second part of the Polish series concentrates on a narrower slice. Of the three machines offered, two are of the R reconnaissance version, that is machines converted to carry photographic equipment, and the third belongs to the late bis version operated by a naval aviation unit. The sheet is therefore aimed at the modeler who already has the basic variants built and wants to add the less usual machines.

Both reconnaissance examples come from the 32nd Reconnaissance Regiment, but each one serves with a different squadron of the same unit, which shows in the tactical markings. The machine of the bis version is listed under a naval aviation unit and its serial number is documented in the full factory form as well.

The sheet follows on from the first part of the same series, but the subjects do not overlap, so the two sheets complement each other and a coherent group of Polish machines can be built from them. The method of application is the usual one: the surface is first evened out with a gloss coat, the decal is released in lukewarm water and once it has settled the excess water is blotted away, so no air is left under the film. Overcoating afterwards with a matte varnish hides the edges of the film completely. The model of the aircraft is obtained separately; the contents of the package are the decals only. A smaller number of subjects does not mean narrower use, rather a focus on variants that are not commonly offered.
