This set is a resin detail replacement for models of the French Mirage IV in 1:48 scale. It is not a kit of the airplane but an accessory that replaces the plastic end exhaust nozzles with accurate castings with a faithfully executed interior. Cast resin holds sharp edges and fine details that injection-molded plastic cannot manage.
The Dassault Mirage IV was a French supersonic strategic bomber of the Cold War, the carrier of the nuclear deterrent. Two Atar engines with afterburners gave the machine its characteristic nozzles, and a faithful rendering of them markedly lifts the impression a finished model makes when seen from behind.
First wash the parts free of mold release agent residue, cut off the casting blocks carefully and sand the surfaces. It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Protect your airways when sanding resin. We recommend spraying the inside of the nozzles in metallic shades with heat staining.
This is a detail accessory, not a complete model. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
