A set of waterslide decals in 1:48 scale intended for models of the American twin-engine Lockheed P-38 Lightning fighter in the F and G versions. The set brings markings and decoration suited to the early form of this machine and makes it possible to add attractive personal markings to the Tamiya kit.

The real subject

The Lockheed P-38 Lightning was an American twin-engine fighter of the Second World War with a characteristic twin-boom layout and a central nacelle for the pilot. It excelled in range, in armament concentrated in the nose and in versatility - it served as a fighter, a bomber escort, a reconnaissance machine and a fighter-bomber. The F and G versions were among the early production forms deployed in the first years of the war.

Use

• Apply the decals onto a dry gloss coat so that the edges do not silver.
• Dip the piece briefly in lukewarm water and, once the backing has released, slide it onto the model.
• Settle the decal into the surface detail with a softener.
• Once dry, seal it with a clear coat.
