A sharp transition between a clear part and the paint of the cockpit framing is one of the few things that even a layman notices on a finished model. Cutting the outlines out of adhesive tape by hand can be done, but on a rounded canopy it takes hours and it turns out a little differently every time. Pre-cut self-adhesive masks get around that work: the shape is ready and cut to the part the set is made for, so the mask only has to be lifted out, stuck on and sprayed over.
The word TFace with masks says that the set holds items for both sides of the glazing, the outer as well as the inner. Masking the inside has a practical sense: the cockpit frames tend to be painted in the interior color from within and without a mask their inner side cannot be sprayed without the clear surface being spoiled. With a TFace set the frames thus come out equally cleanly from both points of view, which on the large cockpit of a Mustang shows well.
The P-51K is one of the production versions of the American Mustang fighter aircraft. It differs from the most widespread version above all in the propeller used; the airframe, the teardrop cockpit canopy and the shape of the tail surfaces stay the same.
The model, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
