The double-sided masking set 1:48 Panavia Tornado ECR TFace from the Czech manufacturer Eduard masks the glazing of a model from the outside and the inside. It is an accessory to a kit, not a model.

This is a masking set from Eduard in the TFace execution, not a kit of the aircraft. The TFace designation is a distinguishing detail: the set holds masks for the outer and the inner side of the glazing, so you can spray the canopy framing from inside in the interior shade and from outside in the shade of the airframe. On a two-seat machine with a long canopy the view into the cockpit is clearly visible, so the difference pays off.
The masks are stuck onto the clear parts before spraying, cover the glass and leave only the frames exposed. Those are then painted together with the airframe, and the edge between frame and glass comes out crisp. The Panavia Tornado ECR is the version intended for the suppression of enemy air defenses; it is a two-seat combat aircraft with a variable-geometry wing, whose cockpit canopy has complex framing. Masking a shape like that by hand is tedious and rarely comes out symmetrical.
Wash the clear parts in lukewarm soapy water and let them dry out. First stick the inner masks on and spray the frames from inside in the interior shade, and only then seat the canopy. Stick the outer masks on only after the surroundings have been filled and sanded. Press each mask down around its edge with a toothpick, so that no paint seeps under the edge. Apply the first coat thinly, so that it seals the edge; spray the further coats at right angles to the edge of the mask. Take the masks off shortly after the paint has dried and before varnishing. Before you buy, check that the set matches the Tornado ECR kit in 1:48 scale that you are building.
