Photo-etched rear small fuel tanks for the Soviet T-34/76 tank in 1:48 scale from Aber. A metal replacement for the smaller type of tank, brackets included.
Responsibility details are not available.
A photo-etched metal set in 1:48 scale from the Polish maker Aber. It deals with the smaller type of external fuel tank on the Soviet T-34/76 medium tank, securing straps and stirrups included. The metal form holds the correct profiles and thin edges that injection-molded plastic cannot manage.
External fuel tanks extended the range of the T-34 and during the war their shape and size changed with the production batch and the factory. Alongside the large cylindrical ones, smaller tanks were also used, which took up less room on the sides and at the rear of the hull. The T-34/76 version carried a 76.2 mm gun.
Separate the photo-etched parts with a sharp knife on a hard mat or with photo-etch scissors, and make the bends in a bending tool or along a steel ruler. Glue them with cyanoacrylate glue and degrease the surfaces beforehand. Lay down a base coat suitable for metal before painting, otherwise the paint holds badly on the etched parts.
This is a detail set, not a complete model. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
