Photo-etched fenders for models of the T-34/76 model 1941 tank in 1:48 – vol.3, the additional set from Aber. Accurate brass fenders as a replacement for plastic.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a photo-etched detail accessory, not a model. The additional set (vol.3) is aimed at the fenders for models of the Soviet T-34/76 model 1941 medium tank in 1:48 scale. Thin brass sheet makes it possible to capture the real gauge of the fenders faithfully, which thick-walled plastic cannot do.
The fenders of the T-34 were often bent, dented or partly missing in service. Etched sheet can be shaped exactly and used to suggest such battle damage, which gives the model an authentic look. The set follows on from the basic set (vol.1) and the grille covers (vol.2) in the same range.
Cut the parts from the fret, run the bends over a metal ruler or a bending tool and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue. For the damage effect, dent the sheet carefully with a blunt tool. Degrease the brass before painting and go over it with a primer.
The accessory does not hold the model of the tank itself, nor paints or glue. It serves only to detail a kit.
