This resin set from the Czech manufacturer AML lets you build a Spitfire Mk.Vc or Mk.VIIIc in the less usual configuration with full gun armament, four 20 mm Hispano cannons. It is an accessory for a base kit that reworks the armament area of the wing; the aircraft model itself is not in the package.
The universal type C wing gave the Spitfire flexibility in armament: it could carry two cannons with machine guns, or four Hispano cannons. Most aircraft flew with the two-cannon fit, but the full four-cannon armament appeared where tougher targets were expected. On the wing it is given away by the paired barrels and the prominent gun bay covers, a detail that sets a model apart from ordinary Spitfires at once.
Lay out the position of the barrels before gluing and check that they line up by looking from the front, because it is the parallelism of the four barrels that decides how convincing the result is. Glue the resin with cyanoacrylate glue and fill the transitions of the covers on the wing lightly. The muzzles of the barrels can be carefully drilled out for a realistic impression.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
