The masking set Soviet White (Yellow) Outlined Kremlin Stars — early variant, 1:48 from Armycast serves for spraying stars of the Kremlin type with a white or yellow edging. An accessory for a model, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of self-adhesive Armycast masks for aircraft models in 1:48 scale. It lets you spray the Soviet star insignia of the so-called Kremlin type, edged in white or yellow, in the variant designated as early. It is neither a kit nor decals, but an aid for applying the marking in paint.
The term Kremlin star is used in modeling practice to distinguish a star with different proportions of the points from the commonly drawn insignia. Armycast offers it as a separate range alongside the standard red stars, in an early, mid and late pattern. What exactly the geometric difference is and which variant suits which machines cannot be told from the name — so choose according to photographic or drawn documentation for the particular aircraft.
The insignia often falls on curved surfaces — the root of the fin, the sides of the fuselage, the leading section of the wing. Never lay a mask on such a place all at once. Put it down by the center first, press it, and only then smooth it gradually toward the edges, so that the excess material is spread evenly and no creases form. Masks of thin masking paper can be shaped into a curve more easily with careful warming with hot air or by running a damp finger over them; with film masks, slow pressure helps more than heat. A crease that is left behind is a sure route to paint creeping under.
This is an accessory for a model. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
