An injection-molded plastic kit of the light Hughes 500D helicopter in police markings, in 1:48 scale from the Korean company Academy. The box offers parts for building the characteristic small helicopter with its teardrop fuselage, and decals for a police machine.
The Hughes 500D is the civil and service version derived from the family of light helicopters of the 500 series (known in military form as the OH-6 Cayuse). It is notable for its compact egg-shaped fuselage, a five-blade main rotor and low running costs, which made it widespread with police, rescue and corporate operators all over the world. It serves for patrol, observation and transport.
We recommend thin cement for plastic and careful fitting of the clear cabin, which makes up a large part of the forward fuselage; masking during spraying pays off. The glazing can be polished before gluing. Police schemes tend to be bold, so it is worth using a good base and smooth opaque paints; apply the decals over a gloss coat and seal them with a matte one.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
