A set of turned metal barrels, MASTER 1:48 Spitfire Mk.IXe/XVIe (early version) - Hispano 20 mm and Browning .50, replaces the plastic armament parts in the wing and gives the model sharp, accurate geometry.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a turned metal detail set, not a model of an aircraft. It replaces the plastic barrels of the Hispano 20 mm cannon and the .50 caliber Browning machine gun together with their fairings in the E type wing. The early version has conical fairings. The set is designed for Spitfire kits in 1:48 scale from Eduard.
The Spitfire Mk.IXe and the later Mk.XVIe carried the so-called E wing with one Hispano 20 mm cannon and one .50 caliber Browning heavy machine gun in each wing half. This combination replaced the older arrangement of two cannons and four .303 caliber machine guns and became typical of the late Spitfires at the end of the Second World War.
Cut the plastic barrels off the model and replace them with the metal parts. Use cyanoacrylate for gluing and degrease the parts beforehand. Metal holds its shape even while the surrounding plastic is sanded and takes a sharp clean-up of the muzzle. It is worth masking the bores before spraying.
This is not a complete model. The set does not contain glue, paints or a kit; it serves as an accessory to a base model.
