The Su-35 is a single-seat multirole aircraft from a later development branch of the Su-27 line. It is a large machine on which the entrance to the cockpit is high above the ground, so a boarding ladder is indispensable in handling it, and on a model it works as a guide to scale: only beside it does the viewer grasp the real dimensions of the aircraft.
The question almost everyone asks when buying is: why resin and not the usual injection-molded plastic? The answer lies in the fineness of the casting. A silicone mold allows thin sections and the sharp edges of the steps to be captured without the thickening that injection molding forces because of the flow of the material and the ejector pins, and no parting lines or marks left by ejectors remain on the visible surfaces. In exchange, the parts have to be cut off instead of nipped, degreased before painting and glued with cyanoacrylate glue. It is a different technique of working, not a harder one.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. It is not a model of the aircraft but an accessory for it. Glue, paints and the kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
