A set of photo-etched parts in 1:48 scale for a model of the two-seat Sukhoi Su-27UB. It adds the details that cannot be made from plastic.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Su-27UB is the two-seat combat trainer version of the Soviet heavy fighter Su-27 from the Sukhoi design bureau. The second crew member sits behind the pilot in a raised cockpit, and the rear of the canopy is adapted to that. The machine keeps the performance and the armament of the combat version, so it served for more than training alone.
An etched part is thin metal sheet from which the outlines of the parts are etched chemically. It makes it possible to produce components that cannot be made from plastic, that is, fine grilles, thin plates, loops and small items of equipment. The extent of this set and the kit it is intended for are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Separate the parts with a sharp blade on a hard surface, not with nippers, which will bend the sheet, and sand the remaining stub down. Make the bends along the scored lines, ideally in a bending tool or between two blades. They are attached with cyanoacrylate glue applied in a minute amount; cement for polystyrene does not hold on metal. Before painting, degrease the parts and give them a coat of primer, otherwise the finish rubs off during handling.
The set is intended for more experienced modelers who want to take a build beyond the contents of the box and do not mind working with tweezers and a magnifier. The reward is a markedly more faithful look to the places on a model that every visitor to a display case looks at first.
The model kit, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
