The masking set 1:48 Supermarine Spitfire Mk.I and Mk.II from the Peewit brand. An accessory for precise masking while painting a model; it is not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set from the Peewit brand in 1:48 scale holds pre-shaped self-adhesive masks with which the surfaces that are to stay free of paint are covered before spraying. It is a modeling accessory, not a kit of the aircraft. The larger 1:48 scale makes working with masks easier, because the individual parts are easier to handle than in 1:72.
The Mk.I and Mk.II were early versions of the British single-seat Supermarine Spitfire fighter. They were powered by a Rolls-Royce Merlin V12, on the Mk.II in a more powerful version. The earliest Mk.I machines had a two-blade wooden propeller of fixed pitch and a flat canopy; later a metal propeller with several blades and a bulged canopy that improved the view came in. The armament consisted of 7.7 mm machine guns spread through the wings. The elliptical wing that gave the aircraft its characteristic silhouette was the result of an effort to get the least possible drag while leaving enough room for the armament and the landing gear.
First wash and degrease the glazing. Place the masks with tweezers and press them down all the way around, so that no paint runs underneath. Spray the frames first in the interior shade, then in the base color and finally in the outer finish. On early schemes with a hard boundary to the upper camouflage, masking tape together with a fine roll of modeling putty comes in handy, which creates a slightly soft transition. Take the masks off shortly after the finish has dried.
This is an accessory for a model, not a kit. The plastic model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise. We recommend checking the fit with your kit before buying.
