A 1:48 plastic model kit of the US Modern 4x4 Humvee Cargo Vehicle from Tamiya of Japan: the American military off-road vehicle HMMWV in its cargo configuration.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the American HMMWV military off-road vehicle, popularly the Humvee, in its cargo configuration and in 1:48 scale. The manufacturer is Tamiya of Japan. The box contains 108 parts, four of them in rubber, a driver figure, decals for three versions and a choice between an open and a tarpaulin-covered cargo bed. The finished model measures around 99 mm.
From the middle of the 1980s the HMMWV replaced older jeeps and light trucks in the American army. It is a vehicle with four-wheel drive, a wide track, independent suspension and high-mounted final drives, so it copes with deep fording and large irregularities. It was built in many forms, from an ambulance and a weapons carrier to the cargo variant with a flat bed that this model captures. The vehicle appeared in practically every American operation from Panama through the Persian Gulf to Iraq and Afghanistan.
The chassis and the suspension have nice detail in this kit, and it pays to paint them separately before you put the vehicle together. Glue the plastic with liquid cement for polystyrene. Both the three-color NATO camouflage and desert sand are best applied with an airbrush over a primer coat. For weathering use a wash in the recesses, dry-brushing on the edges and dust pigments on the fenders and in the wheel wells. Do not glue the rubber parts with cement for plastic; only cyanoacrylate holds them.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
