USAF pilot for the F-5A/C with an ejection seat 1:48 is a resin figure of a US Air Force pilot together with an ejection seat, meant to dress up a model of the F-5A/C fighter in 1:48 scale. An accessory for more experienced modelers.
Responsibility details are not available.
A resin figure of a US Air Force pilot from Aires, out of its Aerobonus figure line, in 1:48 scale. The set holds a seated pilot along with an ejection seat suitable for a model of the F-5A/C fighter. It is an accessory for more experienced modelers, not a standalone aircraft model: the figure sits into the cockpit of a finished model and raises its realism markedly. It is supplied unpainted.
The Northrop F-5 Freedom Fighter was a light supersonic fighter which, thanks to its simplicity, reliability and low operating costs, spread to the air forces of dozens of countries. The F-5A version, and the F-5C, were among the first production machines of this family. A pilot figure in period flight gear, with helmet, oxygen mask and survival equipment, gives the model a sense of scale and a human dimension that an empty cockpit lacks.
First wash the parts free of mold release agent residue, cut the casting blocks off carefully and glue them with cyanoacrylate. Wear respiratory protection while sanding. Apply a primer before painting. Paint the flight suit, the helmet and the seat harness in layers with shading; the belts and buckles of the ejection seat come out best when the detail is picked out. At the end, seat the figure in the cockpit.
The accessory is supplied as a resin figure, unpainted. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package. Use respiratory protection and ventilate when sanding and cutting.
