Decals 1:48 Westland Lysander in Finnish service from SBS Model bring Finnish markings for this British liaison aircraft — it is an accessory, not a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A decal set in 1:48 scale from the Hungarian brand SBS Model, focused on the Westland Lysander in the colors of the Finnish Air Force in the Second World War. The package holds decals, not parts of the aircraft — you use the set on a finished or part-built Lysander kit in the same scale. SBS Model has long devoted itself to Finnish and Hungarian subjects, which are missing from the ordinary decal sheets in boxes.
The Westland Lysander was a British liaison and reconnaissance high-wing aircraft with a high-set cranked wing, fixed landing gear in substantial fairings and an exceptionally short take-off and landing run. It was precisely the ability to land and take off from a short strip that made it the typical liaison machine. A small number of Lysanders also reached Finland, where they served away from the main combat tasks, and the Finnish national insignia together with a striking winter camouflage scheme give the type a form you will not find in the ordinary range.
Decals belong on a smooth gloss varnish — on a matte surface air is caught under the carrier film and silvering results. Cut the motif out close to the artwork, dip it in lukewarm water for a few seconds and let it rest on a cloth until it can be slid. Dampen the area beforehand with a decal softener, bring the decal into position with a brush and draw the surplus water off from the center toward the edges. Over engraved lines and the fabric covering of the fuselage use a stronger softener and let the decal dry without being touched. Finally go over the whole model with a matte varnish, which hides the edges of the carrier film.
The package holds decals, not parts of a model. The kit, glue, paints and varnishes are not included.
