Lewis Mk.I Stripped Half Heat Sinks 1:48 (GasPatch Models) is a resin pair of Lewis aircraft machine guns without the jacket, with a half finned radiator, for superdetailing.
Responsibility details are not available.
A resin detail set that captures the British Lewis Mk.I aircraft machine gun in the lightened form without the outer jacket, with the aluminum finned radiator along part of the barrel length, in 1:48 scale. It is not an airplane model but an accessory for superdetailing. The package holds a pair, two resin castings.
The Lewis was a British light machine gun of 7.7 mm caliber (.303 British) with a pan magazine on top, a common flexible weapon of the aircraft observer in the First World War. An aluminum finned radiator around the barrel served for cooling, and its outer jacket was often taken off on aircraft.
This form is stripped, without the cylindrical jacket, while the fins of the radiator remain along only part of the barrel length, that is half. The weapon suits the observers' flexible mounts of First World War biplanes.
Wash the parts free of mold release agent residue, separate the casting blocks carefully and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Wear respiratory protection while sanding. The exposed barrel and the fins come out well with a dark metal base and a fine dry brush.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted, as resin castings. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
